The purpose of our flagship product--SES--is to help you execute optimal directional steering and to determine where the payzone exists (technical geosteering) in 3D space. Dr. Stoner also developed a Fuzzy Logic controller for the purpose of advancing directional steering control technology. Through control rules the Fuzzy controller computes tool-setting adjustments from system inputs...in other words the controller provides steering directions to drill more pay, smoothly. "Obvious" inputs are metrics that adequately address hole deviation from a planned vs. actual geometric perspective and thus, Technical Hole Deviation (THD) and THD Logs were invented. For the first time ever this patented technology as an advisory system is accessible to you with SES 3 (pronounced "S"-"E"-"S").

Dr. Mike Stoner* - Founder and Managing Director   Dr. Stoner currently manages SES technical support and maintains its more than 32000 lines of code. He also authors and publishes related technical papers and the technical content of this web site.   Mike also works as an independent consultant to Norwest Questa Engineering Corporation on multiple client projects in a reservoir engineering and reservoir simulation environment. Before consulting, Mike worked temporary drilling and production positions for Anadarko Petroleum, Texaco E&P, and Oryx Energy. He specialized in drilling engineering while working for Professor Emeritus Dr. Billy J. Mitchell for six years at Colorado School of Mines.   Database programming, directional drilling mathematics, and petroleum engineering knowledge are all skills that have application in complex horizontal well reservoir simulations, mature fields rehabilitation, and horizontal well CBM modeling. These experiences complement the development of great geosteering/directional software.
